If you’re ready to study animal health and wondering what your job prospects are, take a look at these three positions some former graduates have chosen to pursue.
Quality control specialist
One position previous graduates have chosen to pursue is that of a quality control specialist. This role can vary based on the organization; however, quality control specialists are generally responsible for ensuring that a product or process is always packaged or performed with safety and quality in mind. Animal health quality control specialists may have additional responsibilities that also include testing, compliance, investigations, documentation, reporting and more.
Clinical laboratory manager
If you want to lead a team and a laboratory, this type of role could be the perfect fit. A clinical lab manager in the animal health field performs a number of important duties that contribute to animal safety, including safety regulation compliance, quality control, research and team training. This type of position is fantastic for individuals who are passionate, data-driven and detail-oriented, as you’ll likely be responsible not only for a team, but for products, processes and lab equipment, as well.
Scientist
One of the most versatile roles in the realm of animal health is a scientist. Scientists who work in this field may research animal nutrition, health, welfare and more. Scientists may be involved in many different types of projects, which makes this an incredibly versatile field for anyone who wants to work on the technical side of animal health. Whether you’re interested in developing medications, working to make animal food safer or you’d like to conduct research that supports the relationship between humans and animals, a role as a scientist could be right for you.
